Jewellery has always been more than an accessory to me.
It is a way of expressing who we are. A reflection of our individuality, our journey, our spirit. The pieces we choose to wear often become part of our story, accompanying us through life's celebrations, milestones and transformations.
NAIIAD was born from a desire to create jewellery that helps women express their own spirit and individuality. Jewellery that feels deeply personal. Jewellery that celebrates all that you are...
Each piece is handcrafted in sterling silver using a combination of traditional silversmithing and chainmail techniques. Chainmail is the ancient art of assembling rings one at a time to create fluid, fabric-like patterns in metal. It is a craft that has fascinated me for many years because of its beautiful balance of strength and softness.
In many ways, chainmail jewellery reminds me of a woman... Made from countless individual links, each small and delicate on its own, yet together creating something remarkably strong, resilient and enduring. Fluid and adaptable, intricate and beautiful. Soft in movement, yet powerful in structure. Elegant and spirited... It is this balance that inspires my work.
I love exploring the creative possibilities of combining chainmail with traditional silversmithing to create distinctive modern jewellery that is both beautiful to wear and rich in meaning.
My fascination with historical craftsmanship has also led to collaborations with the British Museum in London. Over the years, my jewellery has been selected for exhibitions exploring historical materials and techniques, including projects combining chainmail with Murano glass and amethyst. These collaborations reflect my passion for reinterpreting ancient craftsmanship through contemporary jewellery designed for women today.
My designs have also been featured in independent jewellery boutiques in Paris and Dublin. Yet the greatest privilege remains creating jewellery for the women who wear it...
